    Got this guy on Saturday.
He ate some raw shrimp last night. Should I feed him exclusively on shrimp or will they accept other foods?

Is that a pink spotted watchman? How is it doing? Did it eat anything other than the shrimp?

So pretty! My yellow watchman will eat whatever falls in the tank. I usually feed a combination of Rod's food (which has a little bit of everything) and mysis or brine shrimp and usually some small pieces of krill.

Yep, Pink spotted watchman. It's doing well. Only tried him on shrimp so far. Will try to get some brine shrimp up and see if he would eat that.

I feed a combo of spectrum, baby krill, cyclop-eeze, frozen squid and shrimp. I'll try him on krill and see if he takes that.

    New Light

So I finally got the guts to put up my MH fixture this morning. It was sitting under my sofa for about 2 months doing nothing because I was weary about my softies burning. For now, I just have the middle 250W MH. I don't know if to put on the other two bulbs just yet. I'll keep the photo period for about 3 hours today to see how things go.

So far I really like the difference in the look of the tank, It looks more "professional"

I'm a bit worried about the toadstool and the Kenya tree. I think the others could handle the adjustment.
What do you guys think? Is this a good switch from 192 W PCs?
BTW, I just put the lights on when I took the pics so the corals haven't opened up as yet.

Well corals opened up fine for some time now.
I'm running the photo period for 6 hrs of MHs. How long should I keep the actinics on for?
I think tomorrow I'm gonna put on the two halides on each end instead of just one in the middle.
I have one small frag SPS that was doing fine with the PCs but with the halide on just in the middle, it isn't getting much light.

I've noticed that the actinics that came with this fixture makes the tank look a bit on the green side and colors don't pop as they used too with the last fixture I had up.
I've been looking into these Compact Fluorescent Reef Aquarium Lighting: Current Compact Fluorescent Straight Pin Bulbs bulbs to replace the actinics.
I'm thinking of the Dual Actinic 420/460nm 96W. What's your take on this mixture of colors? Would the 420/460 make the colors pop more?
    What's your opinion?
