Silicone effect water?

hey guys im building a fuge with overflow dividers. do i need a special kind of silicone sealant? will it release toxins into my water?

 

to my understanding, you want to use 100% silicone. they should have it at your local hardware store or lfs. i know my lfs has it

 

Best to buy aquarium silicone sealant, when its cured, fully dry, its perfectly reef safe

Yes use aquarium silicone Any big box store carries it. they usually have it in the paint department with the glues.....Have fun.... Make sure you use enough to seal and hold the walls as well as a strong acrylic if that is the route you are going...

Well, I don't know about any "big box stores" as neither Lowes or Home Depot carries it (at least around here). But PetCo has it. That's where I got mine.
