Just would like to know if regular clear silicone wwould be safe in light fixture. Lots of heat in the fixture not sure if it would melt or cause any harm. I know theres hi temp silicone but dont have access to it right now.

Im not sure what your wanting to do but I would call the HD/Lowes or other electrical stores around and ask their recommendations before proceeding. ReefSparky may be able to help also. I have used HItemp silicone on intake gaskets and valve cover gaskets before but not on lighting fixtures. I would worry about it catching on fire or dripping down into my tank and possibly killing tank inhabitants.

JMPO I wouldnt use silicone for this. If/when you would need to remove it there would be a chance that it could break. I would look into some type of gasket material or look into getting an O-ring and fit it in there.
