    CRL 33s is what he used and it has those chemicals in it.

    well i have been wanting to do a bigger refugium/sump and i just do not want to chance the silicone ruining my tank. if i do remove the sump how should i remove the contaminants {if any} that are already there or should i even worry?

    carbon filtration will do it which you should always run carbon anyways.
