Since my skimmer goes foamy nuts when there's medicine in the tank, could I just turn the skimmer on and let it go foamy nuts, to skim the medication out of the tank (in addition to WC and carbon)?

If you chose to run your skimmer in this way, be careful to monitor your collection cup and chemistry more often as you will be pulling a lot of "wet" foam out that way and keep an eye on your ATO tank level (if you have one).

On my medic tank, when I have treated and later turn on the skimmer, in short order (less than an hour) it pulled a gallon of water out of a 20g tank...I have no ATO on the medic tank so dilution was not a problem and I just topped up with fresh mixed make up.
