simple auto topup with kalk

I just made mine out of a 2L Soda bottle. Take a bottle, drill a hole in the sap, slightly smaller than airline tubing. Force the airline tubing through, and seal it (I think I just used superglue IIRC). Put an airline value on the tube and you have a doser. Fill it up as reefmonkey describes. Screw the top on, hang upside down, adjust the drip rate and your good to go.

 

well i had made a normal drip topup but the prob with that was sumtimes because of the low pressure, it just wont drip. what i saw a guy did in youtube, he made two holes. 1 for dripping and 1 on the top, where the airline pipe is attached and placed exactly at the water level, so when the water level drops, the air enters and so the water drips then when the water level reaches the top airline, the water stops dripping.

It will still be best to mix kalk in a seperate container and siphon on the saturated water. You don't want slurry clogging lines or getting into your system.

 

I'm not quite sure I follow exactly. It sounds like a siphon of some sort? Anyways, just keep in mind, limewater, if exposed to air, will precipitate calcium carbonate and you'll essentially just end up dosing solid particles of limestone.
