If you add purple up, that will cloud up the water for a bit.

suspended tiny particles in the water - photosynthetic bacteria can cause this

any fish like wrasse/ gobie species that constantly root in the sand can also do this

the amount of water movement in the tank coupled with a lack of mechanical filtration can sometimes make this situation worse

incorporatting carbon and a mechanical filter medium into your system (filter sock) can help as with a system that relies on biological filtration coupled with skimming, these small particles just dont get removed from the system.

thats my experience with cloudy tanks anyway.

Overdosing on calcium/alkalinity can cause a bunch of calcium carbonate precipitation that clouds the tank up for a short time.

salt needs time to mix, micro bloom like mentioned.... do you mix and add the water the same day? usually you should have it brewing a few days, otherwise the mix is a little cloudy with some brands. could be a few different things, not such a simple question huh? :) Take a pic, that makes it easier.
