    It is best to never add any water from your LFS, You have no idea what is in it. I acclimate them slow in a separate bucket, First with temperature, then with water chemistry. Process taking about 1 hour. Then I put only the fish in the tank leaving any of the water from the bag or LFS in the bucket to be dumped out.

    +1 I always scoop my fish out of the bag and put them in the tank after acclimation etc. Never let any LFS water into my tank. Just asking for trouble.

    Great job on this thread vinny. Even though I arguably break rule No.1

    One thing Jason a Mod on here taught me is to use your hand to scope the fish out and into the tank, never use a net. Unless its a lion fish or something that can sting you.
