I decided that my reef octopus nwb 150 skimmer should probably be raised a bit since its a little inconsistent and sitting in about 10 1/4" of water. So i came up with this very simple shelf to raise my skimmer about 1 1/4". I thought it came out very well so i wanted to share.

I simply used some thin acrylic sheeting I had laying around, 1" pvc for legs, and some pvc primer/cement.

Eggcrate works as well, but not nearly as elegant as your lift!

That is going to be one of my projects for this long weekend. I have the RO 100 and I think that it is also too deep at 9" of water.

I also wanted to mention that I am letting the pvc cement dry for several hours before sticking it in my tank. I think i will drop it in late tonight or tomorrow morning. The cement took a bit longer to adhere pvc to acrylic but after about 10 min the legs were totally stuck, as opposed to maybe 30 seconds for a standard pvc fitting.
