My six line is about 2 inch long and is in a 15gal. He has been nipping at my pink bird nest. I can't tell whats causing this. Could he just be hungry or is he just eating bad things? What can I do? Move the coral?

i have heard you could put plastic wrap around the top of coral when 6 line can't pick at it will soon leave it alone. 2 day of this should work. Just don't put plastic too tight where coarl can't breath. You could also put up two rocks next to coral and hang wrap over that as long as 6 line can see coral but can't get to it.

I know that sixlines have cleaning tendencies towards other fish. Not sure about the coral though. I don't think it's eating the coral. You may just want to re-locate it. It could also be picking isopods off of it. Is it causing damage to the coral or just causing it to close. And respectfully 10, I wouldn't suggest covering a coral with saran wrap.

yea as long as the plastic wrap don't stay on too long. 6 line will grow tired of try to pick at nothing. It only works some times and you just might have to move coral or 6 line.

Well you don't cover it tight. Coral still has to breath. It is just a temporay barrier so fish grows disintrest.

it probably is picking off pieces of food or pods, as long as it doesn't appear to be damaging the coral I wouldn't worry about it.

that plasic wrap idea is just so crazy it might work, but i wouldnt wrap around the coral but use rocks and plasic wrap. you also need to make sure that there is some flow in the "coral cage"
IMO i would defently move the guy, but it has to be a place where the wrasse cant get him. mabye even use some plexi glass

I understand the theory but, think that it won't work and may cause more damage to the coral than the fish is/could(potentially). It wouldn't work for my leopard wrasse I know that. They are very hungry and curious. Any nook/cranny that may hold a bite is fair game.
