Hello everyone, I'm researching to find out what fish will work with my Six Line Wrasse. I made the mistake of buying one of these fish and not adding him into the tank last. I'm still pretty new to Saltwater. I have a 3 year old 60 gallon red sea tank that i bought a while back. I currently have two snow flake clowns, midas blenny, blood-red fire shrimp, and a Christmas wrasse and of course a six line wrasse. I now know the Sex line doesn't do well with the Christmas i went to a new LFS for the first time and they told me i would be ok. I've seen some chasing but no physical hurt to the Christmas. The Six line will chase the Christmas most the time when hes not burrowed in the sand.

I am looking to add maybe two more fish and not sure what my six-line wont pick on. I've been really digging through the internet to find some information about this. Any advice on what i can add with be much appreciated. Should i consider removing the six line? i would really like to avoid breaking down my tank to do so + that six line is a really cool fish. I will post a pic of the tank here shortly.

    -Kman

I should probably add that the Christmas is new. about 6 days. The first 3-4 days he dissapeared but he's out and about now.

Here's a pic of the tank.

A QT/HT for the six line could help keeping him in there for a bit. Rearranging the rock may also help with his aggression. If you add a new fish, I would recommend removing the six line which would lead to the rearrangement let the new fish establish himself and add the sixline back in. If you don't have a QT/HT to put him in you may try one of the "acclimation" or breeder type boxes which sit in your tank but isolates him from the others. The rock rearrange will probably be necessary unless you decide to rehome the sixline.

Thanks for the info. The only aggression I've seen is him chasing the Christmas around from time to time. Should I keep an eye on him for now to see what happens? I don't have a QT/HT but I do have one of those breeder type boxes. He has never bothered my clowns. Actually they swim around together some times. Almost like they are a pair.

I did loose my midas blenny tonight I came home from hanging with my friends and he's laying dead in his little hole. My water parameters are perfect. So his death has left me in confusion. He was about 12-14 days with the tank.

The Midas is a pretty peaceful fish. Did you ever see any aggression from the sixline toward the midas? Was the midas coming out and eating? Any damage to his fins or anything? It could have just died from something you may never know the answer to but you definitely want to rule out aggression since you have a possible suspect for that.

I just recently purchased a sixline and it's the last fish in the tank..at the moment it's getting chased and beat up by my royal gramma. Idk how a sixline wrasse can be aggressive

OK, sorry for the late reply work has been crazy. The midas has an unexplained death. No hurt fins no damage. I'm really not sure why he passed. I never saw the six line chase him or bug him in anyway. I've only even seen the six line chase my Christmas wrasse.

I ended up adding a lowermower blenny and diamond gobby over the weekend. The six line has chilled out since this has happened. He hasn't chased or bothered either of the new fish and Christmas and the six line show almost no aggression at all now. I've been watching them very closely. Actually Christmas seems a lot more relaxed and has been out and about majority of the time.

1just3reefs thanks for the reply!!! My six line has been very chill since the new fish were added. Maybe this helped take the focus off my Christmas wrasse. I've seen the both of them pass by each other and flare there fins and that's it. Before this the six line would chase him. I've been keeping a very close eye on the two. But lately no aggression. I think the aggression maybe have been new fish syndrome? Maybe the two of them were just working out living in the same tank together.

-sorry missed your reply before I posted.
