Ok guys, I want another active swimmer and want control over pests in my reef. I am considering a six-line wrasse. What has been the experience with you all in keeping this little guy? I got his habits down, but... what has been your experience with his overall attitude in the reef? Good addition or not?

don't have one buy a friend does and they are always out in the open always wanting to greet you eat normal flake foods as long as they are smaller/crunched up and do get alittle aggressive when a new tank mate comes in but once that fish learns they are just a small fish and their bark is much worst then their bite they just ignore them. i like his and I'm getting one my LFS has tried getting one for me for the past 3 weeks still no luck.

I liked mine a lot. Very cool swimmer, beautiful fish. Model citizen. Didn't bother acros, crabs or snails in my tank. Hardy eater. Just put a sponge prefilter on any pumps in tank, trust me. I learned the hard way. :(

Ok, he's in. Now it's just finding him for a good price.

They are awesome and usually can be found from $14 to $20.00. They have a good temperament as do any of the small Wrasses(Fairy). They get along with all of my fish and corals, are very active and eat a wide variety of food. The neat thing which is associated with alot of Wrasses is that when they sleep, they produce a mucus that surrounds the cave/ hole they sleep in to protect them from predators!

Has anyone had success keeping the 6line with a pair of false clowns? I'm starting to think about the eventual stocking of my new 20H and those were the fish on my wish list.

I have a sixline with false percs and they get aong. I must also add that the sixline will clean out your pods and isopods in the tank. I notice it is always in hunting mode searching the rocks for food! But a great fish in any tank!

i have one but kind of dislike him. he eats my reef crab, picks at my gorgonian, and has eaten/attacked small pyramid snails. also he killed both peppermint shrimps in the first day. i like the colors and his constant movement but he has been naughty

I have a 6-line Wrasse with one False Percula and no problems. Not much he won't get along with except possibly bigger fish that will eat it(ie.large Grouper).

I think this guy will do more good than bad because he is geared more to attacking stuff we all dont want in our reef. My only concern is that he will compete with my mandarin, but my mandarin is eating formula 2 pellets and am thinking about spot feeding since my purple tang get's all of them before they hit the ground.
