Hey, can anyone tell me what is going on with my six lined wrasse? This morning I found his coloring to be very strange. Peramiters are all good, he's eating, and no other fish are ill. What gives?
Pics are the best I could do...he knew I was watching him! lol

Were the tank lights on or off when you noticed its coloration? If they were on, how long were they on for before you snapped the pic?

They had been on for a couple of hours. Just checked it again...still there. Could it be hemmoraging?

Hmm, never heard of a fish fading due to hemmoraghing. I asked about the lights because some fish tend to fade when the lights go out to avoid predation. If it's not because the lights were out, I'm clueless. The fish is behaving normally otherwise?

zig-zagging in and out of the rocks, then rests for a sec and repeats. I was not sure if the discoloring was blood under his pretty colors. Got me??? He was one of the 1st fish i bought after the tank was cycled. tank is 6 mos. old now

Sounds like typical 6-line behavior but when you say resting, does it just hover or does it sink to the bottom? I see what you mean about the discoloration now. The first pic just looks like the colors had faded. What are you feeding the fish? Have you introduced any new fish recently?

Nope, no newbies. I don't get it. He darts here and there (faster than usual) and slows down, hovers, and takes off again.

I have seen this fish in person, it is hard to tell from the pics, it has blotches of more intense coloring.  It is hard to explain the blotches are the same color only more intense.

pls, tell me if you think otherwise SF, just trying to give my 2 cents
