Just added a sixline yesterday, he was tormented a bit by the Blue Tang and damsel--he went to the back of the rocks and I could see him swimming back there for awhile--Now it has been overnight and I cannot find him at all--I read that they are good at hiding and can also bury themselves in the sand--anyone else experienced this or have any experience with sixlines???

We have had a sixline for over two years and have never lost him, LOL, except when he jumped into the overflow. I have a Christmas Wrasse(Halichoeres ornatissimus) in another tank who hid for the first two days but now comes out every morning. We finally found where he buries himself at night...BTW, the sixline is an awesome fish...

I had a sixline earlier on and he would always swim in the center of our rock pile. We also had an anemone that lived in the center so I guess it was bound to happen that the anemone crawled over to the sixline while he was sleeping. I awoke the next day to find the sixline caught in his tenticles and covered in mucus. I got him away before he had been eatin, and he shook it off and hid in the corner for a while. We had him for quite a while until he came up missing again months later. Still never any sign of him.

i had a sixline for about a year and i think they are awesome

unfortunately my experience with them is they tend to commit suicide so i would check around the back of the tank for a fishy delight : )

i had the same thing happen with a blue damsel bc he was being harrassed by another blue damsel, went missing and found deliciousness later...

and my tank is 3/4 coverd... go figure

One of the first fish I got was a blue damsel which I've had for about 7-8 years and it has harassed every other fish that has gone into my tank but after a while they calm down. It was no different when I added my sixline, he hid for a few days but eventually got used to the damsel and all was fine but unfortunately the sixline went AWOL recently never to be seen again. He was a great little fish who would often clean some of my other fish.
