Yup. I assure you it will work if the fish is an aggressive one. Was the only way to entice mine into the trap. :cheesy:

Oh he's agressive, the second I put a twin spot goby in there he went nuts and wouldn't stop attacking it... im sure the fish doesn't even have to be a sixline. I think Im going to do that...

Do the inverted bottle trick, and either put some of his favorite food inside the bottle. Or, what seems to work even better, is to put a mirror on the bottom of the inverted bottle.

That's how I caught mine by accident, I was trying to get my Royal Gramma but ended up catching my Wrasse. I didn't have a mirror, but food always works for me. :)

He will not go into the trap. He just keeps pecking around the side of the box. he went in once and when I dropped the line he swam out before the line went down.

Why did you want to remove him? I really enjoy my 6line, he is fun to watch, doesn't cause much trouble and has beautiful colors.

Also its amazing to watch how they make a slime bubble at night and sleep in their "cocoon"

Btw if you keep tearing down the rocks and chasing him, he will more than likely just die due to shock and stress. Also this can happen to other inhabitants in your tank if you're not careful! You should've known what you wanted in your tank before you added the six-line. Not his fault, shame on you.

None the less best of luck and happy fishing!!

Hope you get him out safe and sound!

I do think he is a beautiful fish, I do not want him to die! He just is extremely aggressive towards anything I put in the tank to the point where he kills it. I only re-aquascaped once and it wasn't due to trying to catch the wrasse at all, Im trying my best not to stress him out, I just have a fish trap in there now, He's completely calm and acting normal, He just won't go into the trap even with food! Im trying to find out where he sleeps but I don't really know how to do that..

Take a bottle, cut the top off, invert and insert the top back inside the bottle:

Put a small mirror in the bottom of the bottle, facing towards the opening.

You'll have yourself a fish quickly.
