I'm sorry to hear he is so aggressive, I guess some are calm some are angry. I must've lucked out with a mellow one. But this thread makes me nervous to ever get another six-line in case he is super agro.

To find where he sleeps it's hard, you will have to just watch him a lot. Likely it's going to be in a crevice or small hole in your LR but big enough for him to fit in. When he is sleeping you can poke him with a Q-tip or something to get him to swim out of his hole, he should still be in his cocoon, and then you can net him hopefully with ease. Just watch and use a flash light at night, he is probably in the back behind the rocks.

It's like a snot ball for a cocoon, very neat.

And yea, sometimes just by chasing a fish or moving the LR around you can kill them from shock or stress :(

I tried this numerous times with mine, and he would always just flip out on the outside. The only thing that made him go inside was the trick mentioned above, and even that took ages.

I haven't chased him once I know better haha, thats definitely not going to help my case or his. I'll try watching where he sleeps tonight If I can .

Im going to go ahead and try this now, the only way to know is if you try.. we'll see.. !

I keep trying this with my rogue peppermint, he always goes in and comes right back out.

    Congrats!!!!!

So now that you got him I have a question for everyone.. I have a six line in my tank, is it okay to keep him or should I trade him back to my LFS. The only signs of aggression I saw was when he killed my Fire Fish. But he is okay with everyone else. ( 2 Clowns, Bangi Cardinal and Royal Gramma)

    Thanks :)

mine got along with my two clown fish and angel fish. But I tried adding a twin spot goby. and it killed it. My angle fish died :( so I wanted to add more fish but was too afraid he would just kill them. If your done adding fish I would say your fine if he's getting along with everyone.

Well I plan on adding Onyx black clowns someday soon. I don't want to have them get hurt.

So happy you caught him. I've been trying to catch mine too. He will not go anywhere near the trap. I'll try the mirror trick. I was unlucky and got an aggressive one. He has already killed 2 fish that cost 4 times as much as him. lol

Im so happy. Like I was really really really happy, I never had to chase him at all. He's just a hungry fish and he wanted that food. I hope you catch yours... They can be really mean.. Mine got along with everyone up until I added a little twin spot...
