Size of over flow box?

    Hi all,

    I have a 49 gallon fish tank and i want to connect a refugium to it but i'm curious on what size overflow box i should it put in? and when i do put in my overflow box what size return pump will i need? thanks again !:)

    I don't know what company you're looking at. I believe the back fill box is 8'' deep with only about 5'' of that space filled with water at any given time.

    for the company I use, that's a medium one if I remember correctly. I'd get something that size because you can upgrade to a 75 or so without having to upgrade.

    hope this helps in some way.

    EDIT: I use a pond pump rated for 800-1200 GPH. Dunno what you really need for a 49 but I know a 55 can handle that... to me it's close enough.
