    Hey all,

I wanted to see how accurate the size estimations are on Live Aquaria. Can anyone chime in who has ordered from them on if they received fish the size advertised or if they were larger/smaller?

I have read some customers had ordered medium sized fish and ended up with ones larger than the estimations.

    Thanks!

Im not sure on the size, i just wonder how close the fish/coral look to the pics because they have to be altered. The colors are almost always really nice, i just find it hard to beleive.

The fish I had ordered were pretty much the size I expected them to be. I'm sure if you are making a general order (not from divers den), you can make a note on your order if you prefer a smallish medium or largish medium.

They will send you a larger sized fish if the size you ordered is out of stock when they pull your order.

The Diver's Den pics are accurate. The Live Aquaria pics are generic and it is stated that your animal may look different when you click on the animal.

I did write them directly and they replied with a general "we cannot guarantee which end of the estimates you will receive".

But, for example, someone ordered a "medium" fish that has estimates 3"-4.5" and they received a 6" fish. I feel that is not a good practice as in this hobby the size of the fish is pretty important.

Agree. KC and Eric order from LA all the time. Maybe they can contribute. I never ordered from them.

Ive ordered several things from LA...both divers den and not. I have only ordered one fish though. I ordered the Maldives Anthias Male, and it was pretty much exactly within the boundaries of what they told me.

As far as corals, I have ordered several pieces from Divers Den that do not look like what they have pictured. However, they say their corals are kept under 20k halides, mine are 14k Phoenix, so that may be where the differences are.

Either way, every order I have had has been a positive one, and have only had one coral die. They instantly refunded the money, all I had to do was send a picture of it. Atleast they stand behind their stuff.

Pertaining to fish, I only purchase from Live Aquaria. Although, the majority are Diver's Den purchases. Any purchases outside of Diver's Den, have always been quite accurate. I've never been disappointed with their service or products. From the care and attention to detail in packaging, to the items they sell, if you're looking for live stock, you won't find a better seller. I guarantee that.

thanks for the input/advice everyone, appreciated. I wish there was a way to have a better estimate, I understand there are variables, but I would think they could somehow make sure & not do a completely "blind ship".
