Clean enough, I use the Sink sprayer which is almost like using s preasure washer with our water pressure, blasts that crap off!

I have a Reef Devil Deluxe with an AquaC 5 liter waste container connected to it. I dump both my skimmer's collection cup & water container first. Wipe any build up in skimmer, collection cup, & lids, then rinse. I wash out my waste container with warm water & vinegar, rinse, & dry. Replace carbon in chamber to remove smell while in use.

I've had the same curiosity Nor_Cal and have tested both methods with no difference. I use the kitchen sprayer/ paper towel/ ro water method ...clean clean. 3x weekly.

I add a teaspoon of kalk powder to the clean cup before putting it back on the skimmer - it stops the gunk from stinking.

Dump it, scrub it all clean with my fingers (inside and outside of the cup as well as the lid) under the running water from the faucet, and put it back on the skimmer.

I empty the cup using the drain. However, once a month I clean the entire cup.
