I just moved and sold my 120 gallon. Doing the 210 gallon build (slowly). It's going to have a 75 gallon sump/refug. It's going to be reef tank with sps/lps mixed. I have my old skimmer Swc extreme 200. Thinking of upgrading to the new aquamaxx cone 3. Wondering if the swc would handle the new system or go with bigger skimmer. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't have any skimmer advice for you, but I would have built the stand taller so you have more room to play with your fuge

Stand is 38" tall. I will have enough room to get skimmer out through right side cabinet. Stand is 9 ft long. Left side ato container. Right side apex controller and other electronics.

Thanks. I have been looking at reef octopus also, but there has been a lot of talk about new aquamaxx and price seems good.

Your current skimmer will be fine for now. If you plan on a fairly heavy bioload (fish), you'll probably need to upgrade in the future. FTR, I have 4 fish in a 29g with no skimmer at all; however, a 10% biweekly water change for a 210g might be a bit more costly. :)

Yeah, you go bigger and costs get bigger but it's worth it in the end. I was going to keep current skimmer but I have a offer to sell the current skimmer. It would help toward new skimmer and I was thinking do it now and won't have to do it later. I also think ill have a decent bio load with fish. I have my mixing station set up ready to go, but your right that will add up to. Thanks for advice.

I don't know anything about aquamax skimmers. I am personally looking at reef octopuss and vertex skimmers (179 and 5000int)

Yeah, reef octopus is on possible list. They seem to be proven over and over again. I've been reading up on aquamaxx cones and they seem like a good skimmer. They have a lot of good reviews. Only thing is they are backed up on delivery due to the sudden popularity. Still researching since I have a little time still building. Thanks

I'm a big fan of Reef Octo and believe in upsizing.
