I am trying to get the eguipment ready for when I set up my 110gal reef tank. My questions are:
What is a good skimmer that you guys recommend? I was looking at the Coralife super skimmer needle wheel or maybe the Turboflotor 1000 multi skimmer.I will have a 8.5" space for it
What is a good pump for the return to the tank? I can have a max flow rate of 1650gph(what the sump says) so was looking for maybe 1500gph?
I was looking at the "Quiet One Pump" or Rio Hyperflow .
    Any help would be great!
    Thank You

The sump isn't your key determinant of your max flow rate for the return pump. The overflow is. I also wouldn't push it that close to the max flow rate.

I have heard only good things about any of the reef octopus skimmers, and they are priced well. As far as a pump that can put out that much water im not really sure if a rio or quiet one could keep up with the head pressure.

I have and love the Reef Octopus XP-2000 skimmer. $399, and it's a fine skimmer. I have the Iwaki MD40RLT return pump. Very quiet, well made, and reliable. IMO size the return pump as close to the overflow max capability as you can, make sure to take into account the head pressure. You can always throttle back with a ball valve on the return line if necessary. Never restrict the flow TO the pump.

    Good luck! :)
