skimmer being wierd

    my skimmer is still foaming alot
    is thee anything i cna do to stop this?

    what you mean foaming???? its good that its producing foam

    yea but it foams way to much
    it will fill the collection cup in about 10 seconds and the waste is just water no gunk or anything

    i wish i had that problem my skimmer hasn't skimmed in a week i figure its a good thing

    what type of skimmer..... HOB? in sump? brand? model? etc

    If its still new, give it a week or so it should calm down.

    Sounds like it is skimming way too wet. Does your skimmer have a valve adjuster to adjust the height of the bubbles in the skimmer chamber? If it does, the height should be just above the neck of the skimmer. If it doesn't then you'll need to slowly raise the skimmer out of your sump/tank (or if in a sump you could just lower the water level to acheive the same thing) until the bubble are reduced to just above the neck.

    Without knowing what kind of skimmer it is and how long it has been running it would be difficult to say what the problem is. Have you dosed with anything lately? Can you just adjust the water level lower until you get a thicker foam?

    I know you said the output is all the way down, but try taking it off completely and see what that does. Not sure what that will do but it will give you an idea of whether or not it will skim any dryer.

    You can also take the pump apart and see if the needle wheel is damaged.

    Is the air tube connected to the venturi on the pump?
