skimmer being wierd

    umm its a asm the older version of the mini-g
    the tank has been running for about 3 1/2 weeks
    no i havent dosed anything

    whats your sump water level???? how many inches?

    Sounds like your water level is too high.

    bluefalcon is the needle wheel the part with the magnet cause theres one little part that has broken off.

    Yes. It should have a magnet shaft with a plastic disk on the end and little plastic needles that aerate the water. If you could get pics posted it would help out alot. If only one little needle is broken off thats not your problem but if the disk or shaft is damaged it wont aerate the water enough to push enough bubbles in the body. More bubble means dryer skimmate.

    umm i would take a picture of it but my mom has the camera at work and so i cant .
    oh i have lots of bubbles and the skimmate is dry

    Where is the water level in the skimmer body. I know it's kinda hard to determine that with all the bubbles but if the water is all the way up to the neck, the bubbles are being forced into the cup and you have to lower the water level in the body so there is more space for the bubbles to mix into a dry froth. Normally the only way to do this is to lower your output tube. You said the output tube is all the way down so I suggest you take it off completely and see if that lowers the water level. If it works, you may need to trim the output tube to be shroter.
