    - So earlier this week, my Aquatic Life 115 decided to stop working after unplugging it during my weekly water change. I worked on it forever and cleaned it twice... nothing. It could not have happened at a worse time. I just started to get everything very stable and happy and recently added my first Acro frag. This was on Monday and I am already getting a nutrient build up, as I am already staring to see small hair algae spots forming. So I decided to go for an all out upgrade. I just bought a Tunze 9002, materials for a 5 gal sump, a life reef overflow, and an Eco-tech Marine mp10 pump.

    - Now that I have to wait for several days to start getting this stuff in, I need to worry about my currently stocked SPS. I am worried the nutrients will harm them over the next week. They have always been kept in a very clean tank with skimmer. What steps should I take to keep them happy until I get things back to normal?

    - Temp: 80F.
    - Salinity: 1.024
    - Cal: 440
    - Alk: 9.0-9.5
    - Mag: 1350-1375
    - Nitrite: 0
    - Amm: 0
    - Nitrate: 0
    - Phos: must have some, I have a bit of algae forming

    - I am running 4.5 Tablespoons of GFO and 2 Tablespoons of Carbon in a phosphate reactor. In addition, I use an eheim electric vac to suck up detris every other day or so between cleanings. I feed PE mysis every other day after I rinse with distilled water. I also top off and clean with distilled water. I am honestly baffled with how fast the nutrients started to accumulate. Any advice?

Have some clean water made up and change a couple gallons every 2-3 days would help a bunch :) even 1 gallon would help.

okay, i was thinking a gallon every other day. that wont cause any swings after several days? so far the acro, birdsnest, and monti's still have color and polyp extension
