skimmer broke will tank be ok?

I had the injector break on my bullet 2 today. I took the unit appart and then put it back together and the injector is leaking in the housing. Its not leaking outside and is partially opperation but is not skimming well at all. I know the guys at pm well and they shipped me the replacement parts but can this tank withstand no skimming for 5 days while package is in shipping from texas to maine. Its a 220 med stocked tank. sould I try to borrow one? Its really not skimming all that good they told me to leave it on but it seems almost useless. Sad part is My wife supprised me with over 400 in fish between the emperor, the large naso, and the med pb tang. all of them are 6 plus incehs other then the pb is 4-5. any thoughts thanks

 

I think you should be fine, my skimmer has been on the fritz for the past 2 months and the only negative I have noticed is that some of my corals have slowed in their growth. If you are really worried, do some water changes.

 

What a wanderful wife you have. She is a keeper. You should be fine for 5 days but try to get a 100 micron filter pad to clean you water.

 

you will be fine. you could feed less or non at all if ur that concerned.

I agree with this too but the powder blue has a small ammount of ick and I had been over feeding to keep it happy. I have the temp at 80 right now but its almost cleared up still good?

 

5 days is not that long, the bullet will clean it up in no time just skim wet for a few days.

 

scott you ever have to clean the injector on yours? mine was gunky but not to bad then I put it back together and this happened lol still in my oppenion the best skimmer I have ever run

 

Even using treatment like Melafix tells you to turn your skimmer off for a week. I did with no ill effects. Except for the volcano that followed.
