I just set up my 29g tank. I'm planning on making it a mixed reef tank with a few SPS corals(5 or 6 maybe). I'm in the market for a HOB skimmer that will do well with this type of setup. I have an opportunity to get the AquaC Remora VERY lightly used with a Maxi-Jet 1200 for $100 right now, so that is one option.....

My other thought after reading many reviews and people's thoughts on this skimmer is the ESHOPPS PSK-100H. It's the cheapest ive found it and I have heard nothing but good stuff about it.

Anyone that wants to give me their opinions on either one of these skimmers, or if you had to pick between one or the other, Which would it be?

I want to stay in the $100(+-$20) range for this skimmer because being 17 and in high school, money is an obstacle. Any other suggestions for skimmers in the price range would be greatly appreciated guys and gals.

    Thanks in advance everyone!

Thanks for the replies guys. Anyone have any experience with the eshopps? I'm kinda leaning towards it.::)

I have an eshopps on my 55 FOWLR at work, it pulls a good amount of skimmate, and is really quiet, the tank is overstocked, and it seems to keep up with it very well, water is pristine, not sure how it would hold up with SPS though. Im thinking about getting one for my 72 at home, the one I have is ridiculously loud, but thats a coralife

I think you'll be happy with it. It was a pain in the butt to set up but that could just be because I'm a mechanical dip stick :p
