Skimmer cup rinse water

    I was just wondering, does it really matter if you clean out the skimmer collection cup with tap water (rinse it out in the sink)? I wasn't sure and as of lately I have been pulling crazy skimmate out of the sump and have been rinsing it every other day.

    i wash my with tap water and wipe with a paper towel. Mine needs to be done about 3x a week....my skimmer is undersized for my bioload
