This is my first post as I just joined, hurray!

Ok down to business. What I am looking for is a skimmer solution without a sump, HOB, nor can it be on top. I want a closed-loop solution to put underneath my tank in the cabinet. I searched around the internet and saw some systems but they looked way to large of an operation (200+ga. tanks) for my size of 40ga.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, along with a pump/skimmer recommendation. I saw a bunch of reviews here but wasn't sure what would work for what I want. Anything under 200 bucks would be great :)

Here is a picture of what I wanted set up, if at all possible that is.

That will simply not work, period. You you can't have it below the tank without it being in a sump. You need a sump, or a Hang on back, no way around that. Externals are not working off the tank, they are working off the sump they are next too. Sorry Charlie....

    And welcome to 3Reef!!!

Yea I figured it wouldn't work but who knows right? Looks like I am going to move my tank to throw on a HOB. Any recommendations for a medium-high bio load 40ga. HOB skimmer?

What is your aversion to sumps? Aqua C remoras seem to be the standard for HOBs
