    Hi,

I am looking for a skimmer that fit my budget(which is not much). I was going for a Aqua Medic T-1000 Turboflotor w/ a Ocean Runner 2500 for about $120 new, but I missed that on ebay :(. Now I am looking at the Seaclone 150. Is it good? Anyone has used it can give any pros and cons?

    Thanks!

Don't bother with the seaclone it is no where capable enough to skimmer a 125. Despite the rating. My pick would be the Coralife 220. It is around a $160 and a real nice skimmer.

I wouldn't run the SeaClone on anything larger than a 75, maybe a 90FOWLER. I had one (Got it with the tank.) on my old 130 FOWLER and it wasn't able to keep up. It is currently on the 72 and doing fine.

I would not attempt to be thrifty on your skimmer. The biggest reason: when you run into algae blooms you will always second guess the Skimmer then eventually you will upgrade to one that can handle your tanks bioload. Spend the bucks now and save yourself the headacks later.
    Trust me I've been there.

What are you looking for Hang on, in sump or external?

I am looking for in sump skimmer. I am looking at the Coralife Super Skimmer Covey mentioned. It gets pretty good reviews and it's not that pricey.

One thing, if I do get the Coralife 220, I will be sure that I don't have to upgrade to anything else, right? Since it's for 220gal tank and I have a 125gal.

I am also open to any other suggestion.

    Thanks!

Be careful with skimmer ratings. Most manufacturers over rate the tank size for their skimmers. You can usually count on a skimmer to be 15-30% over rated IMHO.
