i am checking out the ASM G3 but it's too tall, i only have about 22" max under my tank. it's $270 shipped, which is kinda pricey for me, but i know i won't be getting one in a long time. too bad it's too tall.....

ok, i just found out the CCS is also 25" tall......that's not good. i don't want to hang on tank or sump and risk the chances of flooding my house...that sux. :(

EDIT: ok, luckily i am fixing my stand's panel/door right now with the tank off...i can do some mod to part of the stand so that part will have a vertical of up to 26" max. the CCS is 25.5" and it will be sitting in a 55gal sump/fuge, will i have enough room to put it in/out for cleaning?

    thanks!

I thought you were running on the cheap. If you can swing it, the MR-1 is a very hot setup. http://www.myreefcreations.com/psstandard.htm
Covey just bought one and he is raving about it. If you really loose your mind for a few bucks more the MR-2 is a beast and can be upgraded in the future to handle 2 Beckets.

The Aqua C Urchin Pro is only 20" tall, but for that size tank I would upgrade the pump to a Rio 1700plus pump at 650gph or a Mag 5 or Mag 7 pump over the Rio 1400 or Mag 3 pump. I have the Remora Pro which it the HOT version of the Urchin and I have Upgraded the pump to the Rio 1700 and it has made a huge difference in its efficiency. I using it in my sump after a few Mods.

Aqua C also has their EV series skimmers for larger tanks. The EV180 is only 20" tall and is supposed to be a good skimmer based upon reviews, although I don't have any personal experience with them.

AquaMedic makes a turbofloater shorty that would fit under your tank but they are pricey. Only 13" tall.

    Hope this helps!

Yeah, my max. money i was gonna spend was 200 bux, because the coralife 220 might not fit w/o mods to my stand, i might just get the ASM G-2 (21.25") for 240 shipped w/ pump. I would love coralife cause of the reviews and price, but i don't really want to do anymore work to the stand.

What do you guys think of the ASM G-2 for 125gal tank?

Blader Runner: MR-1 is too expensive...it's gonna be at least 300+ after shipping and pump.

    thanks!

Have you checked Ebay? There are some good deals on used skimmers.
