    Hey all

I have a 72 gal with very little space left in my sump area to fit a skimmer. I probably have about 6"X 6" left in there. I am open to pretty much any suggestions, in sump or hang on the back type. Any help would be great thanks all.

ASM G3 it actually takes up very little space. Plus it can be dismantled to quite small to get it in a sump.

Thanks to both you guys. I will look into those two skimmers. Where is a good place to get these skimmers. Any other suggestions would be great.

Does anyone else have any suggestions on a skimmer I could use. I kinda like the external mounted skimmer.

I would say the SeaClone 100, but everyone else would yell at me. I've heard good things about the Remora and the Red Sea hang-on skimmers, but see the ads on the left of this page for more choices.

If you want a HOT skimmer I have tried a few over the years and IMO the Deltec MCE 600 is a great skimmer that would work very well on your system and could be used on either your main tank or sump. The benefits of this skimmer is that the pump is contained within the skimmer body, it has a nice slim profile so does not require much clearance between to fit in tight spaces. I am currently using this skimmer on my 44g cube and it really skims out some nasties. Another HOT skimmer that I have used is the Remora Pro HOT skimmer. This skimmer also works very well but what I didn't like about it is that the pump is quite large and ugly and it must go inside the tank (or sump if your setup allows).
For in sump the ASM or Euroreef skimmers also work very well. I have used an ASM G3 and G4X (with factory recirculating mods).
