skimmer for a 12 gallon nano cube?

    i'm in the same boat, set up a tank for my neighbor. still gonna have to do water changes. I was gonna do the skimmer too, but no matter what, still going to have to change water, so skimmer is just extra stuff that will be a hassle.

    its a 12 gallon, you can do like 1 gallon a week. thats easy as can be.

    Im not there enough too do a gallon a week and she doesn't have much time for it...I kno she hasta keep upbon wc but a skimmer will prolong water changes

    honestly in that size tank, its not really going to make a difference, and then you have to fiddle with the skimmer all the time. probably be better with some chaeto to cut the nitrates down. thats what we doing with my neighbors tank.

    I have to agree a skimmer is really not a must have on a tank that size. Water changes are going to be much more important on that volumne of water IMO.

    But if she wants a skimmer Tunze hands down.

    I kno skimmers aren't necessary on a small tank like this 1 but she doesn't have the time for such frequint water changes and a skimmer will help prolong time between water changes.
