Looking for some advice for purchasing a skimmer for a 300g tank.

Its a new setup, not too worried about physical size, just the performance. I don't want to buy an expensive piece of junk.

I would like to get something for under $600, but can spend more if that won't cut it.

Right now i was considering a Tunze DOC 9021 skimmer.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

I would prefer an oversized skimmer but it's going to have a light bio load. It won't be a reef tank, FOWLR to start.

reef octopus was my second choice after the Tunze skimmer....

If its a light bioload then I think the ones i reccomended would be okay. But you will be kicking yourself for not spending a bit more if you get a heavier bio load or go to a reef tank.

I dont know anything about the tunze at all, so I cant really comment on that.
