Doing my research now. For my 40 breeder i was going to do this as far as a sump and there are alot of choices as far as skimmer

    Aqueon 34501 ProFlex Sump Model 2, 55-75-Gallon
Amazon.com: Aqueon 34501 ProFlex Sump Model 2, 55-75-Gallon: Pet Supplies

(Also what else do i need with this sump, to have the complete setup)

And the in sump choices for a protein filter are all over the place. Before i spend money on these i just wanted to know what everyone uses. Figure to spend between $200-$250. More or less, idk

    OR

Do i go the hang on back route with a Remora-S

Scratch the sump idea... More weight is not what i need.

I think the new Remora-S is the way to go for a hang on the back skimmer in a bed-room. What do you think

I did a 45 gallon reef with the same sump. I used a coral life super skimmer for 60 gallons and its worked great for me but now because I upgraded to a 90 and now have a eshopp sump with a eshopp skimmer because aqueon and coral life tend to get expensive and I think the eshopp are so simple. I'm putting my 45 gallon up for sale with the sump and lights. Pump wise look into any mag drives, sicce, or eheims. #1 being sicce, 2 being eheim 3 being mag drive/danner and don't just go by ratings, all great pumps. Mag drives are bricks and people complain about how loud they are but I've had both a 1200 and a 500 and I never noticed. Sicce gets it for energy conservation and quietness. And eheims is kind of a slice of each. I used a 500 and I still do as a utility pump for water changes and its awesome. The super skimmer was difficult to set I can't lie but it did work and eshopps skimmers did suck but now that they make them with sicce pumps its amazing.

Sorry I was typing that before you posted that. You'll be surprised how much weight yours floors can take. With sumps they hide all that equipment like your filter, heater, and your skimmer. Skimmers look terrible and you could strongly regret having that see able. Ill post a pic of my old one and new one and you'll see. It's smells terrible and and pumps out this thick brown liquid.

I am in the process of setting up my 40b too. almost everyone I asked this question recommended a reef octopus hob. originally I was looking at the bh100f bh100f but I found a really great deal on the bh2000. I saw and heard it in action and its super quiet.

My biggest concern is overflow onto the foor which would go through the ceiling
