    Both would be good choices IMO , both products have great reputations and both brands
    are often suggested as skimmer options on this and probably other sites

    Both great skimmers, octo is good to go right outta box if you get the remora upgrade the pump to a mag 3

    I have the Aquac urchin(the in sump version of the remora) works great with only a maxijet1200..cant see the HOB being bad..heard good stuff about them...plus there customer care is A++..

    I just set up my remora pro with mag 3. so far so good ...same goes for my friend just set her remora with maxijet 1200 up and all is well there too. they r both still breaking in

    I used a Remora HOB until I got a sump. I liked a lot, it worked really well. I now have a PM Redline 125 which I can't say enough good things about, so keep that in mind if you ever get a sump.

    How soon are you looking to get one?

    I have a Remora and love it. I am upgrading tanks so I have to get a new skimmer as well. Will need to keep mine for another 3 weeks though.

    I'll most likely be getting mine in the next day or so from the group buy and bulkreefsupply aside from finding some amazing deal elsewhere.

    I have never used the remora but have seen them in action and they are a great skimmer. Personally, though, I love the Octopus line. I do think they are making some of the best skimmers on the market, especially for the buck.
