    I made the same mistake of "testing" a recently cleaned skimmer in fresh water. After days of banging my head against the wall, I posted here for help and the answer hit me in the face like a thousand pounds of live rock in a sack:

    FRESH WATER DOES NOT BUBBLE UP!
    The bubbles will be bigger if any.

    try that skimmer with salt water. I bet u your paycheck that it will bubble up nicely.

    haha! like a sack of live rock huh ? lol wow your right ! i feel dumb now, thank you for that slap in the face... but i rather not bet my pay check, need that for live rock lol
