Here's a few pics of the skimmer I got when I bought a tank off of craigslist. The skimmer I have now came from petsmart and has one input, one output and an air hose. This thing has all kinds of holes and I am totally lost. How do you put this thing together and what kind of pump should be hooked up to it? Thanks for the help I have been playing with it for an hour and can't figure it out. It didn't come with instructions, lol.

Does anyone even know what brand this is? It doesn't have any markings on it.

So it looks like the two 90 degree elbows with the clear tube attach the the two holes at the top. Is that correct and are those the outlet holes for the water to return back into the sump? I also got a rio 2100. Would that be the pump used for it?

I'm going to help the best I can. The 2 tubes with the 90 goes on the 2 outlets on the top of the skimmer. your pump hooks up to the tube on the very bottom of the skimmer with the piece that has 2 different sizes on each size. the tube piece that has the knob that turn on it can be hooked up to the pump to control the flow that goes into the skimmer. the piece that has the flat end can be used in the tank to control which direction you want your flow to go. That's all I can help you with. I'm sorry I'm not more knowledgeable

Thanks. Any idea what the other 2 holes on the skimmer are for? (the one in the middle and the tube sticking out of the side next to the air hose.)

It looks like you have parts from a Rio pump so my guess is the 2100 would be fine most of them you won't need. It also looks like it was moded to receive effuent from a reactor into the vertical tube on the T inlet. I would get rid of it if you don't have a reactor. The large fitting in the middle looks like the black canister might fit there. I can't tell but I would think one of those hoses with the adjustment could be attached to the bottom of the cup for run-off. I'd give it a vinegar bath and attach everything and run it in a 5g bucket of water change water to see how it works. Hope this helps.;)

Thanks Ill play with it some more with my new knowledge from you two. Does this look like a piece of crap skimmer? I have a 100 gal sea clone from petsmart. Would that work on a 90 gal?

No idea how to put it together but before you do give it a vinegar bath save ya time on taking it back apart to clean it. Good luck remember a clean skimmer is an efficant one :)
