Skimmer HELP!

    I just took apart my Eshopps HOB skimmer to clean it and now I am trying to put it back onto the tank. I am having problems priming the skimmer. I have filled it with water and yet it still will not fill the rest of the way. The input is not sucking in water and the output is not returning water to the tank.

    How do I fix this issue? :confused:

    you have to get water in the pump somehow. Try turning it on and forcing water in the intake with a turkey baster or something. Sounds like the impeller might be cavitating.

    It does this everytime I take it apart to clean it...which is why I only do it once to twice a year!

    What does cavitating mean?
