    I guess my skimmer would be considered "old" technology, but I really like and it's worked flawlessly. I have a PM Redline 125. I get good foam and skimate production. It's not too expensive and built very well. Keep in mind that even the best skimmers only capture about 25-30% of the dissolved organic matter. (At least since last time I've looked at the numbers.)

    I got the older PM skimmer, It's not working for me at all any more :-/

    In that case one of these would be worth looking at:

    Xtreme 120 Cone Protein Skimmer

    I would also look at Aqua C.
