Skimmer Housing Sponges

    There are some sponges and other stuff growing in the housing on my Coralife 65. Could this cause performance issues. The skimmer is not working quite as well as it was.

    Im no expert but... clean it? I have the same skimmer and I know theyre pretty sensitive.

    I would say it would cause a performance issue. If you've never cleaned it before then that would be the first thing you should try. Nothing grows in my skimmer body, it doesn't have a chance to. I do mine once a month in a 24 hour Vinegar/RO solution run.

    I knew I had to clean the cup, pump and intake and have been regularly. I didn't even think to clean the housing though. It will be a minor PITA to remove. I wasn't planning on moving the housing so I used it to secure the ATO and Kalk lines. Lesson learned :)
