Skimmer input please!

    I'm moving from a CPR Cyclone to a dedicated skimmer as I've just added a custom fuge. Looking at the different options, I've boiled it down to this:
    Skimmers using needle wheels whether it's Euro Reef, Deltec, Octopus, etc, have the most common point of failure as the impeller. That is why the AquaC EV series or downdraft for that matter intrigues me. The design seems simpler and less prone to problems. Am I wrong? Any input would be great and appreciated. I do love the design of the recirculating skimmers, just afarid of the impellers...

    So, buy another wheel when you get the skimmer...
    Simplistic? Maybe.
