you hanging it in your DT? ..Put some porous foam over the output..that should do it you may have to experiment with different medias...but it will work. 8)
...and from the looks of it..make sure the pipe is in the water not free falling into the water...if Im seeing it correct.

ok ..sometimes they need some break in time...a week or so..if you can deal with it...they settle down as a rule.

It looks like a good enough skimmer..you said it is doing a good job..so many brands,,and knock offs out there it would be hard to say...the basic design has been replicated by the thousands...Break in times for some of these HOB models can vary...I had to tweak mine for a month or so before it finally settled down...but that was years ago : ) a combination of positions and medias...can you turn the pump down a bit? what size tank you in? How about a couple pictures? maybe a visual may point something out that has not been discussed. : )

To tell you the truth I really wouldn't expect much from a $40.00 skimmer.:( LG is absolutely right about break in time though.

It looks like there are initials on the cup lid. Google that and maybe you can find the brand and possible MFG support that way if that's what you're interested in. It looks like a Chinese knock off hat I saw on Manufacturers, Suppliers, Exporters & Importers from the world's largest online B2B marketplace-Alibaba.com. You can buy hundreds of pretty much anything you want at low prices for resale there.

I was having trouble with the very inexpensive skimmer that came with my used set up. After making major mods to the sump I was getting lots of micro bubbles. I ran a length of tubing behind what was a wall retaining the bio-balls ( now gone) and directed the output from the skimmer as far from the return pump as possible. That Cleared up the bubbles.

Since I cut a hole in the perforated drawer bottom that used to distribute water over the bio balls and installed a 7 inch sock, I've got a straight drop on the line coming into the sump. I've got to design a baffle to quiet the water interring the sock.
Anybody have an idea for that ?... Vinnyboombatz? I'll bet you've had a run with that challenge.
