    Hey all,

My aquamedic turboflotor multi (in HOB mode) is creating ALOT of microbubbles when I feed my fish. Normally, it doesnt create it as much. I am sure its broken in since I am getting a light brown skimmate in the collection cup. But once the food goes into the tank (flake and mysis) it goes nuts and my whole tank fills up with microbubbles.

Should I turn my skimmer off when I feed my fish?

I have been searching the forums and some members have recomended using a sponge near the intake. What if I am in HOB mode? Where abouts should I put a sponge?

    im a newwwwwb :)

Hello, If you choose to add a sponge, it will need to be in the area where the water exits the skimmer and enters the tank to be effective... With an old Seaclone I run from time to time in my QT, a small bit of sponge fit to the lip of the skimmer helped to reduce the micro bubbles. However, it will also collect a lot of wast and require frequent cleaning...

On the the subject of turning off the skimmer during feeding, be prepared to see micro bubbles once you turn it back on...likely to be less...but still there...
