So, I run a Coralife Super Skimmer 125 on my 75 gallon and it seems like it just doesn't produce the amount of skim ate I see on other reefers's skimmers. I do run a large amount of cheato morpha and according to my test kits the nitrates are at 0, so could that be the reason of its low performance. Thanks everybody :)

I don't get the amount of skimmate I think I should either. I'm thinking it's "human error" and either I don't have it adjusted right, the water level isn't consistent enough or maybe I don't clean it often/well enough. So, I'm curious too what y'all are getting.

A skimmer can only remove a certain percentage of available proteins, so yes, it is entirely possible to have a bioload that's "too small" for a skimmer to show much in the performance arena. OTOH, if you have nutrient or algae problems, then your skimmer needs to be cleaned and/or adjusted. :)

    I agree with Incognito & Mr.Bill.
My personal experence was assuming I had little skimmate because I only had 2 small clownfish in a 57gal dt & 20gal sump. I fought algae for nearly a year until I tuned in my skimmer.
This is about 3-4 days worth of skimate, I've been algae free for 3 months now, still just the 2 fish.

I also have a SS 125. After having it for a year I decided to pull it out and clean it. I accidentally broke the nipple on the venturi chamber that hold the air line. I called a LFS and he suggested I create a hole in the debris strainer and put the air line inside. It skims so much better now! One thing that also helps is to have the pump placed at the correct depth under the water line.
