This might be a daft question guys but why does my skimmer stop skimming for a long time after i feed my BTA a silverside.I fed the nem on sunday and it didnt start skimming again until monday morning.Everything is working ok skimmer wise e.g pump and air wise.My tank is a 50 Gallon (uk gall) and a 23 gallon sump (uk gallon).

Its very common for a skimmer to go flat after feeding. If I feed certain foods mine does it also. It also does it after a good cleaning of the skimmer also.

Cheers for that. When i had the BM NAC6se it just seemed to not take as long but since i have purchased the BM150 pro it seems to take forever for the bubbles to build back up.

It's probably b/c of the oils on the fish. Oils prevent the bubbles from forming and thus preventing the skimmer from working properly.

The surface tension of the water was or is altered when you feed or change water or even put a hand in the water will cause the change in the water.

If you have proper lighting there is no need to feed one anyways I kept them for yrs back when they where expensive and split them to sell and never fed one . The parent got to be half as wide as a 180 and was wider then the tank from front to back . about 3x3 plus feet wide or wider in Diameter then that

If you want to feed it then get a bait squid from a bait shop cut that up in the coin size about like a Quarter and feed that once every two weeks then watch it take off and grow freeze the chunks
