I could try that. The only time it has worked well was right after I replaced the propeller. So I was all excited that the propeller was the reason for the poor performance earlier....but no. :-/ lol

It's in 8-9 inches, and the directions say it works best in 8-10 inches, so that's not the problem.

    Good thought though, thanks!!

I have had troubles getting my aqua c ev to get consistent skim. (Going on 2.5 months old.) So yesterday just for the hell of it I pulled the whole thing out of the sump, and rinsed it. I pulled of the pump, washed that. Pulled off the air intake (lots of saltcreep) and the water intake and out. I washed everything in tap water and reassembled it, including the skimmer body and neck.It is working like crazy in 24 hours. I have no idea what I did but it is working like I imagine it should of from the get go! Good Luck

Oh wow! Glad you got it working well again. Maybe mine needs a good cleaning. I will try to get it done this weekend. Thanks!

just like everyone else, take it out and inspect and clean everything inside and out. I've replaced airtubing a few times over 11 years I've had this skimmer and the air value twice. and once it working good, shouldnt really have to adjust it much. if your nitrates a very low = low skimmate.. possiblly.. one way to check is to feed alot and check the cup next day.
