you can also contact chris@nuocean off the nuocean.com site and ask his expected arrival date. He is a very nice guy!

EDIT: Looks like the shipment has arrived in the US, but its being held up at customs. They should have them very soon. Here is a quote from chris:

Shawn, you should hold off. SWC is releasing cone skimmers for smaller tanks this month. Feb. A 120 and a 160. They are very promising so far and are great for the under 90 crowd. The BM have done well, but I think the SWCs will be better . The wait won't be very long.

Yeah? I'm very uneducated on protein skimmers. What are the benefits and negatives of the SWC and the NAC6? Has anyone on 3reef owned both of these products?

IMO cone skimmers are great, but I think they are just another fad of "new" technology. Dont get me wrong, SWC makes some incredible skimmers! But you cant go wrong either way. And the BM skimmers have over 100 pages on RC of reviews and happy customers. But like I said, you cant go wrong either way!

Yeah I'm still leaning towards the one you suggested rod. I mean everyone who bought it has good things to say. Still gotta get the sump though lol

Don't think of cones as a fundamental leap in design. Just a nice tweak of a proven needle wheel skimmer. The BM have done really well. Seriously, great little skimmer for the price. However, no bubble plate which helps reduce turbulence. And the cone helps reduce turbulence as well. The SWC 120 or BM 6 would suit you well. The SWC 160 cone or BM7 if you want some head room. Those that have been testing the new 120 are very pleased. Don't see it being differnt for the 160, but don't know anyone with one. PReorders are being taken on both. For about the same prices, I would go with the cone. Both have the same pumps so no advantage there.

yes, the bubble plate or diffuser is a nice touch. Which i see if why you mentioned the BM6 or NAC6 and 7, as they do also have the bubble plates. But like i said and Powerman above, you cant go wrong either way!!!

Thank you for correcting me. The NA 6/7 does have bubble plates. I forget which ones, the BMs I was looking at didn't.
