    Hey all,

Recently i noticed that my skimmer wasnt bubbling up and has not been for a while. I dont know why this is, i have tried cleaning it out but it dusnt seem to do anything. It seems that their is not enough water or pressure to pull the water right up into the top chamber to bubble. The only thing that i can change is the two plastic clear tubes that run from the pump up outside and through two holes on the side of the top chamber. When i press my figner on both of these, the water runs up into the top chamber to a certain level, but the bubbling stops. The skimmmer is a Sonpar MH-600 which came with my tank in the sump and i have no instructions or anything to help me.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks all

Its just got a pump on the side, im not sure where the water comes from, but it pushed water into the skimmer chamber, and then it flows up and comes out of a hole 3/4 of the way up the chamber. Thats all it has on it... yer it came in like a package with the tank, and was already in the sump with the rest of the gear when i bought it, so i didnt buy it separately. Yer i know i couldnt find it either, only other modles of the same brand. Its chinese branded, so im not suprised...

Do you guys think i should just buy another small skimmer, with a proven better brand?

    Cheers,

YES! I'm not sure what to use for a smaller tank but I have the AquaC Remora recommended by quite a few on here and have had it for a week or two and what a great job it does!! Didn't realize there was so much junk in my tank!

Hey breed, did u try checking the air line and every part that deals with it. I have too clean my skimmer's air parts b/c it gets clogged up with harden salt. It looks like a vein that was alot of build up inside the venturi parts. I have too soak the parts in fresh water and then scrape with a pin.
