I bought a octopus bh-100 about 2 months ago. I let it run on my system, it broke in nicely, no micro bubbles. Then i took it out for about 2-3 weeks because i took down the tank. Well i put it back up and i fired the skimmer back up and something must be wrong because there are so much bubbles coming out of the return that my sump water isnt even clear at ALL and there are just TONSSS of bubbles coming out of the return. And i know they are micro bubbles and i just have to let the skimmer break in again but i dont think thats the case. There are seriously too may bubbles coming out for it not to be a problem. Some help and advice on how to fix this would be great! there is salt creep everywhere in my sump because of this... I guess im trying to say that this is not natural in my opinion. It looks like in the return plumbing theres like an airstone. thats how much bubbles are coming out. And yes, the collection cup is most definately collecting bubbles.

I have the bh800, your 100 might be braking in again. I have mine on the back of my tank and I get a lot of bubbles from the outtake tube. To try to lessen the bubbles I turned the outtake tube towards the back of the tank and I constantly adjusted the air valve. I still get microbubbles but not to bad. The only time I have a massive outbrake is during feeding. Hope this helps, good luck

The 100 doesnt come with an air valve. Maybe thats the problem. Any recommendations on how to install one if you think thats the problem? And i guess i shouldnt keep calling them micro bubbles. Well like half of them are and the other half is like just big bubbles.

Mine didn't come with an air valve as well and once I got it, it helped. I forget what the tube is called but with the 800 on the right side there is a blue tube that connects to a clear tube. And in that same compartment there is another clear tube and I put the air valve on that one. I'm at work so I'll take pics when I get home

thanks for the suggestion. What does this change rather than letting it run constantly?

try turning the air all the way up. This will slow the flow of water through the system. What is you salinity? Do you use tap water? Have you added any chemicals?

I dont really know what you mean by turn the air all the way up but i dont have any valve. It is as high as it can get. My salinity is 1.026 (i use a refractometer), i use ro/di water and i havent added any chemicals.

Normally there is a valve on the end of the air intake. If there isn't one air flow is at a max. Are you able to control the flow of the pump?
