Skimmer questions

    True, but then again, Tom didn't actually specify bacteria. :)

    I suppose there are 2 sides to the argument: If you are dosing for SPS, then excess WCs will be removing the beneficial elements that you're adding.

    OTOH, if you're using a reef-enhanced salt mix, then excess WCs could negate the necessity for dosing, although that would have nothing to do with whether or not you're running a skimmer.

    IMOPE, skimmers appear to be doing a lot of good with all the goo they pull from the water; however, a few teaspoons of GAC work much better at actually keeping the tank clean.

    2-4 gallons bi-weekly should be plenty. Don't waste your money on a skimmer.
